Configuring Alerts
Choose which problem links trigger an email and where it gets sent.
Alert settings live under Settings → Notifications in your dashboard.
Alert Email
By default, alerts are sent to the email address on your Brokenly account. If you want alerts to go somewhere else — a shared inbox, a virtual assistant, an alias — enter that address in the Alert Email field.
Leave the field blank to keep using your account email.
Email Alerts Toggle
The Email alerts switch turns notifications on or off for your entire account. When it's off, Brokenly still tracks every link but won't send you any email.
Alert Me About
You decide exactly which link statuses should trigger an email. Check the boxes for the issues you care about:
| Status | When it triggers |
|---|---|
| Broken | 404, 410, or other client/server errors |
| Blocked | Destination returned 403 Forbidden |
| Redirects to homepage | Product page redirects to / |
| Redirects to search | Product page redirects to /s |
| Out of stock | Amazon product is currently unavailable |
| Unavailable | Amazon product has been removed |
Healthy links and links you've dismissed are always excluded.
Send Test Email
Click Send test email to receive a sample alert at the configured address. Useful for confirming that delivery works (no spam folder issues, correct address, etc.) before you rely on alerts.
What Doesn't Exist Today
For transparency — these are common requests that aren't supported yet: multiple alert recipients, per-site alert toggles, weekly digests, recovery alerts, custom failure thresholds. If you need any of them, contact us so we can prioritise.
